Free/Open Source Software Asia-Pacific 2004
- The consultation is designed to provide an effective policy-level platform for the exchange of information and experiences in the use of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) for development. Many countries, especially in the Asia-Pacific, have questions and uncertainties on the use of FOSS for development. There is a growing need for awareness raising on the benefits of FOSS, assistance with formulation of national policies, and case studies of FOSS implementation. The consultation is designed to assist policy makers with these different issues.

A Sourcebook for Parliamentarians
- This Sourcebook intended for parliamentarians and policy makers provide a broad overview of ICTs and their use as powerful tools for accelerating social and economic development. It provides tools and Asia-Pacific examples on key issues such as ICT-related policies, the role of government and members of parliament in planning and implementing ICT for development, open standards and open source, and monitoring and evaluation of ICT initiatives.

Asia-Pacific 2004 Public Services Summit: Connectivity and Competitiveness - New Models for e-Government in China, Asia-Pacific, and the World, 15 - 16 July 2004
- UNDP-Asia Pacific Development Information Programme together with China's State Council Informatization Office (SCITO), Cisco Systems and UNDP China organised a high-level e-Government conference to share best practices between China, Asia Pacific, and the world on 15-16 July 2004 in Beijing, China.

APDIP-Cisco Networking Academies
- APDIP and Cisco Systems, Inc., successfully completed their three-year programme to bring Internet education to students in developing countries in the Asia Pacific region. They surpassed the original goal to set-up ten Cisco Networking Academies in nine developing countries in the region and have since established seventeen academies that have trained over 400 students.
