New 2005/2006 Edition of the Digital Review of Asia Pacific Launched
The new and updated edition of the Digital Review of Asia Pacific contains authoritative reports on how 29 economies/countries are using ICT in business, government and civil society written by senior authors who live and work in the region. Included are three subregional chapters on the Pacific Island States, ASEAN and APEC.
South Asia Public Sector ICT Summit, Hyderabad, 24 - 25 January 2005
This Summit provides a platform and opportunity for policy-makers to discuss and share their knowledge and experience in the various e-Government initiatives in their respective countries.
"Bhutan 200" - Lowering the Cost of local Internet Access
Grant awarded in November 2004 to Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Information and Communication, Royal Government of Bhutan to research ways of reducing Internet access costs.
APDIP-Cisco Networking Academies
APDIP and Cisco Systems, Inc., successfully completed their three-year programme to bring Internet education to students in developing countries in the Asia Pacific region. They surpassed the original goal to set-up ten Cisco Networking Academies in nine developing countries in the region and have since established seventeen academies that have trained over 400 students.
Digital Review of Asia Pacific 2003/2004
This bi-annual review provides facts, figures, data and analysis of the state-of-the-art of ICT and Internet diffusion, adoption and application in 25 Asia-Pacific countries. It serves as a one-stop reference source on the state-of-practice and future trends in ICTs for development and ICTs for industry for policy- and decision-makers, technology practitioners and experts, researchers, and educators in the region.
e-Awareness Seminar Series for Asian Parliamentarians (e-ASSAP)
The project seeks to raise awareness of Members of Parliament who are responsible for making decisions on the allocation of resources, and endorsing ICT for Development initiatives.
Towards a Regional Geographic Information Infrastucture (RGII) in the Hindu Kush-Himalayan (HKH) Region
Grant awarded in January 2002 to ICIMOD, Nepal to increase the availability and accessibility of relevant geographic data and to enhance the exchange of geographic information within the region.
