APDIP Releases China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Thailand Country Reports on Internet Governance: APDIP's Open Regional Dialogue on Internet Governance initiative zooms in on the Internet governance issues, priorities and challenges faced by five countries in Asia.

Crop Disease Forecasting System and Expert Crop-Advisory to Farmers over Information Kiosk Networks in India: Grant awarded in March 2005 to Indian Institute of Technology Bombay to survey the extent to disseminate crop advisory and disease forecasting services to farmers in a resource-constrained environment.

Community GIS, India: Grant awarded in March 2005 to Collective Research Initiative Trust to develop an open-access spatial data infrastructure, and a set of simple tools and applications for urban planning.

Free Font for Malayalam: The project aims at creating free software with local language (Malayalam) support in accordance with the established standards, so that ICT applications can be made available at low cost in the language of the people.

Localization How To and Toolkit: A how-to guide and compilation of tools for encouraging larger scale localisation of free and open source software across the world.

Asia Source 2005: Asia Source is a seven day hands-on workshop aimed at building the technical skills of those working with NGOs in South and South East Asia. It will took place on the outskirts of Bangalore during the end of January/beginning of February 2005.

ICT Enabled Life Skill and Sexuality Education for Adolescent Girls in India: Grant awarded in April 2004 to Centre for Women's Development and Research to educate and empower adolescent girls in selected cities and villages using computers, digital cameras and the Internet.

Scientific Journal Publishing in India: Indexing and Online Management: Grant awarded in April 2004 to National Centre for Science Information, Indian Institute of Science, to improve the accessibility of scientific literature published in Indian journals by introducing an indexing system.

Development of a Forest Fire Forecasting System for Western Ghats, India using Web-based Geographical Information System and Remote Sensing: Grant awarded in April 2004 to Centre for Environment and Development to reduce the degradation and loss of biodiversity in the area.

Policy for Integration of ICT intiatives across Rural Karnataka: Grant awarded in October 2003 to Centre for Environmental Studies and the Energy and Resources Institute to develop strategies and policy recommendations for integration of ICT interventions in rural Karnataka.

Unsung Among Us, India: Grant awarded in October 2003 to Grammena Patna Kendram to use ICTs for preserving the cultural heritage of small and marginalized communities.
