Children of Tsunami: A Regional Communications Initiative
Children of Tsunami is a regional communications initiative tracking how ordinary people rebuild lives and livelihoods after the Asian Tsunami Disaster. This is an initiative of TVE Asia Pacific and APDIP is a partner. The films can now be downloaded online.
Regional Workshop on Asia-Pacific E-Government Initiatives, Bangkok, Thailand, 24-25 April 2006
As part of the project entitled "Capacity Building of Asia Pacific e-Government Initiatives," APDIP, UNDP's Asia Regional Governance Programme and the United Nation Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) jointly organized a regional workshop in Bangkok, Thailand on 24-25 April 2006 to review and disuss 20 case studies from 12 different Asia-Pacific countries. This workshop was held back-to-back with egov Asia 2006, the Asian e-government conference, and at the same venue in Rama Gardens Hotel and Resort in Bangkok.
New Open Source Centres of Excellence
In order to address the growing information and technological needs of the Asia and Pacific region, the International Open Source Network (IOSN) has established three new Centres of Excellence – IOSN ASEAN+3, IOSN PIC (Pacific Island Countries), and IOSN South Asia. Together, these Centres will continue the research and development, networking, institutional strengthening, and training undertaken by IOSN over the last three years to advance the adoption of free/open source software, open standards, and open content across the region.

APDIP's Open Regional Dialogue on Internet Governance initiative zooms in on the Internet governance issues, priorities and challenges faced by five countries in Asia.

New 2005/2006 Edition of the Digital Review of Asia Pacific Launched
The new and updated edition of the Digital Review of Asia Pacific contains authoritative reports on how 29 economies/countries are using ICT in business, government and civil society written by senior authors who live and work in the region. Included are three subregional chapters on the Pacific Island States, ASEAN and APEC.
Open Source GIS/Mapping Solution for the Indian Tsunami Information Resource Center
Grant awarded in March 2005 to Janastu to provide an open source GIS/Mapping Solution for the Indian Tsunami Information Resource Center.
Crop Disease Forecasting System and Expert Crop-Advisory to Farmers over Information Kiosk Networks in India
Grant awarded in March 2005 to Indian Institute of Technology Bombay to survey the extent to disseminate crop advisory and disease forecasting services to farmers in a resource-constrained environment.
Community GIS, India
Grant awarded in March 2005 to Collective Research Initiative Trust to develop an open-access spatial data infrastructure, and a set of simple tools and applications for urban planning.
Free Font for Malayalam
The project aims at creating free software with local language (Malayalam) support in accordance with the established standards, so that ICT applications can be made available at low cost in the language of the people.
Asia Source 2005
Asia Source is a seven day hands-on workshop aimed at building the technical skills of those working with NGOs in South and South East Asia. It took place on the outskirts of Bangalore from 28 January to 4 February 2005.
South Asia Public Sector ICT Summit, Hyderabad, 24 - 25 January 2005
This Summit provides a platform and opportunity for policy-makers to discuss and share their knowledge and experience in the various e-Government initiatives in their respective countries.

Using ICT to build capacities of HIV/AIDS Service Providers in India
Grant awarded in November 2004 to SAATHII to develop an Electronic Resource Centre on HIV/AIDS in India which will include E-training programmes, interactive E-forums and E-support.
Shahmukhi to Gurmukhi Transliteration Solution
Grant awarded in November 2005 to Advanced Centre for Technical Development of Punjabi Language, Literature and Culture, Punjabi University, India to facilitate electronic and written communication between people living in and originating from East (Indian) and West Panjabi (Pakistani) through the development of a Panjabi Language Transliteration Tool.
Communicating for Change
'Communicating For Change' is an international multi-media package that combines the power of television, radio, the World Wide Web, and the printed word.
APDIP-Cisco Networking Academies
APDIP and Cisco Systems, Inc., successfully completed their three-year programme to bring Internet education to students in developing countries in the Asia Pacific region. They surpassed the original goal to set-up ten Cisco Networking Academies in nine developing countries in the region and have since established seventeen academies that have trained over 400 students.
ICT-focused Regional Human Development Report (RHDR)
The RHDR explores linkages between ICT and the human development objectives of the UN Millennium Development Goals.
