APDIP, in collaboration with the Public Sector Technology and Management Magazine, the Computing Technology Industry Association for Asia and six corporate partners organized the Asia Pacific Government Technology Forum 2005 in Singapore on 5 October 2005 with over 80 participants from 15 countries. This was an opportunity for senior public sector officials from around the region to meet face-to-face and discuss the technology issues that challenge them.

The Forum which presents seven interactive roundtable discussions held behind closed doors in front of a director-level audience of regional officials provides an effective platform for a frank exchange of ideas and genuine peer learning.

Each roundtable features leading government officials and opinion-formers from around Asia Pacific and addresses the following key themes:

  • Architecting next generation government
  • Proprietary vs. Open Source Software
  • Technology and the reform of governance
  • Public sector IT governance
  • Citizen-centric government
  • Public Private Partnership
  • Securing government systems

A 20-page special edition on the discussions, deliberations and recommendations of the event is published in the December 2005 edition of the Public Sector Technology and Management Magazine.
