Twelve Asia-Pacific Television Producers Join Hands to Raise AIDS Awareness

Document Actions
Asia-Pacific television producers join hands to co-produce “HIV/AIDS Reports” highlighting grass-roots response to the global health epidemic.

Participating broadcast journalists from different parts of the Asia-Pacific region will be creating a series of “HIV/AIDS Reports” in their respective countries for television programming.

The HIV/AIDS Reports aim to raise awareness of the global health epidemic and highlight grass-roots initiatives in the region. These productions will be made available rights-free to all members of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).

The first Production Planning and Training Workshop will take place in Bangkok, Thailand from 8-10 August 2005.

This is a collaborative initiative between UNDP Asia Pacific Development Information Programme; UNDP Regional HIV and Development Programme for Asia; United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) East Asia and Pacific Regional Office; Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS); Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union; Kaiser Family Foundation and MTV Networks International.

The regional broadcast day will take place on 1 December 2005 in conjunction with World AIDS Day.
