APDIP, under its Open Regional Dialogue on Internet Governance (ORDIG) initiative, co-sponsored a number of presentations at this event that was attended by more than forty participants from all across the subregion.

The meeting was organized by UNESCAP, ITU and the Government of Indonesia. APDIP invited Prof. Ang Peng Hwa, Dean of the School of Communcations Studies at Nanyan Technological University, Singapore,  and member of the UN Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG)  to update participants on the latest activities of WGIG. APDIP also extended an invitation to Dr. Emmanuel Lallana, Commissioner on Commission for Information and Communcations Technology, Philippines who reported on Internet governance issues from a country perspective. The sesson was complemented by an update from APDIP on ORDIG and options for participation, as well as by an overview of  Internet governance delivered by UNESCAP. The meeting culminated in a consensual declaration, in which participants among other recognized the urgent need to attend to some Internet governance issues and also expressed their support of APDIP's actitivies in this area.
