Richard Kerby
Private Sector and IT Adviser
UNDP-Africa
Strategic and Regional Initiatives Unit

Mr. Kerby is currently the Private Sector and Information Technology Adviser for the Regional Bureau for Africa. In his current capacity, he is responsible for the management of the regional projects in private sector and information technology for the African region. He was instrumental in the development and the implementation of the following regional IT projects: Internet Initiative for Africa, The Introduction of Internet to sub-Saharan Africa and the TICAD IT Initiative for Africa.

Mr Kerby received in B.S. in Economics and his MBA in International Finance from St. John's University in the U.S. He is a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society for Economics. He is also a member of the African/African American Institute IT Board and is on the Stichting Board for the African Training Management Service project.

He has published a number of articles in International publications on the issue of information technology in Africa and has represented UNDP in numerous international forums concerning IT in Africa. He has advised a number of African governments on developing their IT and communication strategy.
