APDIP will facilitate pre-workshop online discussions on the issues that Programme Officers wish to discuss at the workshop and in order for them to exchange opinions and ideas in regard to workshop topics and agenda. It is our hope as a regional programme for ICT for development, that this forum that will be launched for the workshop shall become a permanent platform for dialogue between ICT Programme Officers in the region.

APDIP will compile all presentations and reference materials prior to the workshop and make these available on the online forum and in hardcopy during the workshop. This will assist programme officers and resource persons in preparing their presentations.

Where necessary, APDIP shall take the lead in following up on post-workshop activities for continual dialogue on the topics and discussions generated by the workshop.

Participants will be expected to produce a brief report which will be shared with their respective UNDP Country Office, APDIP, UNDP BDP/ICT for Development, and the SURF offices. Participants will also be expected to share, and where appropriate, implement tasks, with their programme section/Country Office in order to multiply the positive effects stemming from the workshop.

Participatory Approach

APDIP will facilitate, through the online forum, a participatory process whereby participants will be responsible for fine tuning the workshop and the proposed agenda. It is our hope that the forum will allow programme officers and resource persons to discuss and amend the topics that have been proposed by APDIP.

The agenda for the workshop is not fixed; APDIP will facilitate and encourage participants to develop the agenda to suit their needs and to address relevant issues facing ICT Programme Officers.
