To assist UNDP Country Office programme officers in Asia-Pacific in meeting the aforementioned challenges, the Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme (APDIP) is proposing a five-day workshop, to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for UNDP Country Office ICT Programme Officers/Focal Points in Asia-Pacific.

The workshop, tentatively titled the "Workshop for ICT Programme Officers/Focal Points in UNDP Country Offices in Asia-Pacific" aims to address various issues, common to all UNDP COs, within the following four themes:

• Global and regional UNDP corporate ICT strategy, and the UNDP Country Office realities in developing and implementing ICT for development initiatives;
• Trends and topical issues relating to ICT development and ICT for development;
• Issues and approaches to e-Policy and e-Strategy development;
• Mechanisms for co-ordination and cooperation between UNDP ICT POs in Asia-Pacific.
