Arriving in Kuala Lumpur International Airport The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) , opened in 1998, is quite easy to move around in and not as intimidating as it looks. Provided of course, one follows the signboards. All signboards are in English. It normally takes about 30 to 45 minutes to clear baggage and customs. About and getting around in Kuala Lumpur KL (as it's almost universally known) may appear to be just another modern Asian city of gleaming skyscrapers, but it retains much of the character and local colour. Moving around in KL is easy and simple. The public transport system within KL is speedy, comfortable and uncomplicated. Ttravellers will probably find most joy with the fast and frequent Light Rail (LRT). Taxis are another alternative to getting around. (Read more)
