Arriving in Kuala Lumpur International Airport

The KLIA is the latest airport in Malaysia and began operations in June 1998. Situated 52 km from Kuala Lumpur it is connected via efficient road and rail public transport.

Normally it would take about 30 to 45 minutes to collect your baggage and clear customs.

You can learn more about the KLIA and all that it has to offer. Visit the official KLIA website.

After clearing customs, proceed to the taxi counter, located just after the Customs Checkpoint in the arrival hall. You need to purchase coupons in order to book a taxi. It is cheaper to purchase coupons for budget taxi, which costs about MYR70 – MYR80 (about US$18 – US$22). The Hotel is about 45 minutes drive from the airport. Please do not book taxi other than at the taxi counter.

Alternatively, you can use the new KLIA Express (direct rail service), which links to Stesen Sentral Kuala Lumpur. The KLIA Express operates everyday with 15 minutes frequency during peak hours and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Tickets cost MYR35.00 (US$10) per trip and can be purchased at vending machines and ticket counters at KLIA, a return ticket would cost about MYR60. From Stesen Sentral you can either take a taxi to the hotel for less than MYR12.00 (approx. US$3.00). Visit the official KLIA Express website to learn more and the Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station
