Getting Around in Kuala Lumpur

With the availability of multiple modes of public transport, getting around Kuala Lumpur is not a problem. Although modern, Kuala Lumpur is not so large as to overwhelm the visitor. At any one time, there will be various interesting events going on, and also the places to go in Kuala Lumpur.

But before you start running out and explore the city, let's see some of the basic modes of travelling and moving around in Kuala Lumpur.

The easiest way is of course by taxi. All taxis in Kuala Lumpur are metered.

The other popular way to move around Kuala Lumpur is by using the Light Rail Transit (LRT). Routes and fares are made available so that you can easily plan your trip. However, bear in mind that some interesting places are not quite close to the LRT stations, and you may have to combine LRT and taxi or buses.

The are two LRT lines in Kuala Lumpur, Putra and STAR LRT. Visit the website of Putra to learn more about their route in KL. A new kid on the block is the Monorail system that was recently launched in KL.

You may also travel around KL on air-conditioned buses.
