About eASSAP

The e-Awareness Seminar Series for Asian Parliamentarians (e-ASSAP) was planned to assist the various countries to succeed in their respective Information and Communications Technologies for Development (ICT4D). It aims to sensitize and bring further awareness to members of parliament who are responsible for debating development priorities and making decisions on the allocation of resources.

This seminar series acts as a platform and an opportunity for Asian parliamentarians to discuss and share their knowledge and experience in various ICT4D initiatives. It will also provide the organizers with an opportunity to identify strong advocates of "ICT and gender empowerment" among the participants.

The main objective of the seminars is to equip participants with key skills required to evaluate and monitor ICT initiatives. Participants will learn how to analyze the objectives of ICT4D programmes and to determine the appropriate components, stakeholders, and eventual outcomes. Through presentations, case studies, and working group discussions with government representatives and international agencies, participants will garner the necessary knowledge and awareness to develop, monitor, and encourage ICT4D initiatives.
