e-Policies and e-Strategies: NiDA
The National Information Communications Technology Development Authority (NiDA) was established
by Royal Decree August 23, 2000 and is chaired by the Prime Minister;
the NiDA Deputy Chair is the Senior Minister in charge of the Office of
Council of Ministers. NiDA’s mandates include:
- Formulation of ICT promotion and development policy/strategy for the short-, medium-, and long-term
- Implementation ICT Policy/Strategy for maximum economic growth
- Monitoring and auditing all IT related projects in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
- The noted activities/achievements, present and past, of NiDA include the following:
- The Government Administrative Information System (GAIS)
- The Regional Cisco Networking Academy, under a Cisco/UNDP-APDIP partnership
- The establishment of the Internet Plaza
