Chung Mui Ken heads the e-Government Unit in the Ministry of Finance in Singapore. The Ministry of Finance spearheads the development of policies and sets the strategic directions for e-government in Singapore. It drives the public sector’s efforts to develop Singapore’s capabilities in e-government. The vision of the Singapore government is to be “a leading e-government to better serve the nation in the digital economy”. Hence, the Ministry of Finance works closely with government agencies to fully exploit ICT to improve operational efficiency and transform the way government delivers services to the public.
Prior to her current appointment, Mui Ken was with the Government Chief Information Office in the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. She was responsible for conceptualising and implementing service-wide e-government initiatives, facilitating the delivery of online public services by government agencies and promoting the use of e-services by citizens. She also led a Business Process Design team that conceptualised new cross-boundary e-services and worked with agencies to redesign, streamline and integrate public services across multiple agencies.
In the span of her career, Mui Ken has also held ICT management positions in several government agencies, including the Singapore Tourism Board and the Singapore Judiciary.
