Mr. Jia-Bin Duh
President, China Operations, Cisco Systems

Jia-Bin Duh is the Vice President of Cisco Systems and President of Cisco China. Jia-Bin Duh directs Cisco’s strengthening local presence in China, both from a sales and marketing perspective. He is responsible for enhancing Cisco’s sales and technical teams, further expanding Cisco’s ties with its channel partners, and managing the overall operation of Cisco’s China offices.

Before joining Cisco, Duh spent five years with Microsoft China first as general manager of the representative office, and later as president of Microsoft China, the wholly owned subsidiary.

During his tenure with Microsoft, Duh grew the software company’s PRC revenue by more than 100 times, and saw the number of employees expand from less than 20 to more than 250. As general manager, he established Microsoft in China as a full-fledged functional subsidiary that comprises sales and marketing, consulting, manufacturing, R&D, support, and publishing. One of Duh’s key achievements has been to help Microsoft build up solid, lasting relationships with the PRC government and key opinion leaders in China.

In addition, in making a significant contribution to the development of China’s software industry, Jia-Bin Duh was a key architect of Microsoft’s increasing R&D presence, in co-operation with the government and local partners. Microsoft is currently regarded as one of the leaders in developing localised products for the China market.

Before joining Microsoft, Duh worked in Hewlett-Packard for over 10 years, holding a variety of managerial positions in sales, marketing, and engineering. He started his IT career with ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute) in Taiwan, where he was elected “Prominent Engineer” twice during his two years with the Institute.

Jia-Bin Duh is a graduate of the National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan, with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
