Theme

The theme for the Summit was Connectivity and Competition: New Models for e-Government in China, Asia Pacific, and the World.

Objectives

  • The two-day Public Services Summit will showcase different experiences in transforming cities, regions, and agencies, and create a forum for comparing and exchanging ideas, actions, and facilitate regional networking;
  • Facilitate an exchange process on e-Government experiences of Asia Pacific policy-makers with input from speakers/ resource persons from across the region;
  • Sensitise high-level Asia Pacific policy-makers on the use of Information and Communication Technologies for the development and transformation of their constituencies and nation;
  • Highlight critical policy issues that affect the formulation and implementation of ICT policies and strategies, including policy options;
  • Share lessons learnt and best practices from across Asia Pacific and around the world that could be adapted and applied to situations in participating countries, and
  • Provide Asia Pacific nations with sub-regional and regional contexts for inter-country cooperation on issues relating to e-Government and ICT for Development.
