Opened in January 2001, SMK Batu Empat has 12 classrooms and 6 laboratories. It currently has 400 students of multiracial composition, and 30 teachers

This school serves Gerik town and the surrounding community of 25,000.
One internet-connected computer is presently available for school usage. However more than half of the teachers are capable of training students in computer usage and application.
