Abstract of Project
About one-fifth of India's population is in the adolescent age group of 10-19 years. There are approximately 10 million pregnant adolescents and adolescent mothers throughout India at any given time. Unfortunately the special needs of adolescents are rarely addressed by the educational, health, and family welfare programs in India. Reaching out to these girl particularly in rural areas is a big problem. Many times resource persons do not want to spent their time on traveling to these remote villages. The present developments ICTs have great potential to reach these girls and provide not only sexuality education but also in Life skills needed to plan their career and life in general. Today's girls are tomorrows women. Being young and educated we see a great potential in them to solve women's and village issues.

Present ICT- provide a great opportunity to reach these girls and educate them, they also can use it improve their lives and village community. We will be using Computer, Internet, and Digital Camera to educate, organize and empower these girls. We will be using this in Chennai city and also in a small village to find out the usage and impact of ICT on urban girls. With their participation we will be creating the village and slum area profiles and family profiles and that will be used for education and planning purposes. With adolescent girls participation we will developing interactive learning materials. Finally we wish to develop design a ICT based information creation and dissemination system that can used among rural and urban adolescent girls.
