Partnerships for e-Prosperity for the Poor

The following are some of the key outputs of the initiative:
- A three-year project titled: "Partnership for e-Prosperity for the Poor (Pe-PP)" , 2005-2007, currently being implemented through the establishment of five pilot projects in East Java, Sulawesi and Papua.
Pe-PP is designed to bring existing resources and knowledge together to assist and empower poor communities to utilize ICT for their access to basic social services and economic activities, thus contributing to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
- Poor communities are empowered to improve their economic activities and access to basic services by utilising the telecentres.
- Active and effective partnerships are forged at local and national level to advocate and contribute to the implementation of ICT for poverty reduction.
- Multi-purpose community development telecentres are established and effectively provide Poor communities with increased access to information and communication.
- Knowledge on implementing initiatives in using ICT for poverty reduction is consolidated and disseminated for advocacy, replication and policy formulation.
- ICT4PR Pilot Project titled e-Pabelan , in Pesantren Pabelan, Mungkid, Central Java, established in 2004 and currently also being supported under the Pe-PP project.
- Various Stakeholders Consultations including, Steering Committee Meetings, Focus Group Discussions, and a National Seminar on the Use of Information and Communication Technology for Poverty Reduction.
- Strategic partnership with various institutions such as Open University, Warintek,PT. Telkom Tbk, Regional English Language Office of the US Embassy .
Awareness raising including individual meetings with various stakeholders, production and distribution of ICT4PR video presentation and flyers, as well as the development and maintenance of ICT4PR websites.
