Improving Citizen's Access to Information
This project was created to promote a more open regime with freer access to information. It aims to empower citizens, make administration more participatory, ensure greater transparency, and deter the arbitrary exercise of official power. This is to be achieved through sensitizing, re-orientation and capacity building of government officials; increasing the awareness of citizens, and building their capacity to make reasonable demands for information. To support this goal, six separate locations were chosen for piloting ICT-based Access to Information initiatives.
