The Pakistan Wetlands Project aims to promote the conservation of freshwater and marine wetlands and the associated globally important biodiversity in Pakistan.

Partner(s): MoE, provincial departments of natural resources management, WWF, IUCN, Netherlands Embassy, local communities, local governments.

Activities being carried out include:

Establishing project coordination and consultation mechanism

Setting up resource inventory and need assessment surveys

Holding stakeholder's workshops for site selection

Establishing GIS database

Resource mobilization for securing co-financing; preparing management

Stakeholder participation plans for selected wetlands sites
