Fijian Spell Checker for OpenOffice.org
A USP-IOSN Microgrant awarded in September 2004 to Dr. William J. Blanke and Dr. Paul Geraghty to create a spell check dictionary for the Fijian language for use with the OpenOffice free/open source software suite of office programs.
APC WNSP and GKP Gender and ICT Awards
The APC WNSP and GKP Gender and ICT Awards aim to honor and bring international recognition to innovative and effective projects by women to use ICTs for the promotion of gender equality and/or women’s empowerment.
The Stockholm Challenge Award
The Stockholm Challenge is a pioneer among ICT awards and networking organisations, dating back to 1994 when the City of Stockholm launched the first competition to challenge the cities in Europe to show their best ICT applications for people and society. Since then there have been six prize ceremonies. So far the Stockholm Challenge has brought together over 5,000 ICT projects from all over the world, many of whom are active in lasting and growing networks.
